It is important to be aware that the quality of your print depends upon the visual information that we can extract from the files, transparencies or negatives that you send, so please ensure that these are of the best quality...
If sending transparencies or negatives that are not in focus, unusually exposed and containing obvious noise or grain... please point out if these are creative decisions, so that we do not try to 'correct' your work... If sending transparencies/negatives of paintings, drawings etc. either have these professionally taken or please make sure that they are sharp, properly exposed and properly aligned in the frame (unless this is a creative decision)... We are happy to attempt to correct a variety of problems with your images, but may need to charge extra (we will advise you before starting work if we feel that this is required)...
The Maximum recommended print size from a top quality 35mm transparency or negative is A2, so if you require larger prints, please bear this in mind and move up to Medium or Large Format...
If sending digital files, we can print from any format, but please ensure that your files have sufficient resolution for the print size that you require... Our preference is for uncompressed Tiff’s, 8 or 16 bit (better), RGB, 300dpi (minimum), saved with the Adobe RGB (1998) colour profile and at print size.
Example file sizes for various print sizes are:
A1 170 megabytes
A2 90 megabytes
A3 50 megabytes
A4 25 megabytes
However, the techniques we use during the setting-up process to maximise quality means that the files we generate to print from are usually much larger than this...
We are happy to attempt to print from smaller files and will do our best, but cannot guarantee the quality.
Photographers who shoot digitally using high quality Digital SLR's can have their images interpolated to larger sizes if required. We can get very acceptable A2 sized prints from a good 6 megapixel camera, if the RAW file is converted to a 16 bit Tiff or we can accept your RAW files and do this conversion for you... We are happy to print images from compact digital cameras, but you should be aware that the inherent quality of a 6 megapixel compact image is much lower than the same sized DSLR image...

We can accept digital files on CD, DVD or we are happy to download files from your own web space... please indicate this preference on your order form and specify the link address...
